Weather in London

Sorry, there is no video for current weather forecast for London

Here’s our outlook for Monday 11 August 2025 in London.

We start the day cool and fairly calm. Overnight and into the early morning we’re looking at temperatures around 19 degrees at midnight, dipping to about 15 degrees by dawn. Skies will be mostly clear to partly cloudy through the early hours, so it will feel fresh — a light jacket or jumper is sensible if you’re out early.

During the morning the sun comes through and we warm quickly. By 09:00 we’re already near 20 degrees and by late morning into midday temperatures climb into the low to mid 20s. The UV index rises quickly and reaches about 8 around midday and early afternoon, so we’ll have strong sun for several hours. Expect a mix of sunshine and broken cloud through late morning, with solar radiation peaking around noon.

The warmest part of the day is the afternoon. Highs top out near 28 degrees around 15:00 to 16:00. At the same time cloud cover increases, and by mid to late afternoon we see more overcast skies. It should remain largely dry — the data shows only a very small chance of light rain late in the evening — so most of us will stay dry. Winds pick up in the afternoon with noticeable gusts, so it will feel breezier than earlier in the day.

Into the evening temperatures fall back into the low 20s and then to about 20 to 21 degrees overnight. There is a very small risk of a light shower after about 20:00, but nothing widespread or heavy is expected. Visibility stays good and there is no elevated severe-weather risk.

Practical advice for the day

- Clothing: Dress in light layers. We’ll be cool in the morning, warm by midday and the afternoon, so a T-shirt with a light jacket or shirt that you can remove is best. Comfortable, breathable fabrics are recommended.

- Sun protection: With a UV index around 8 at midday, we should all use sunscreen, wear a hat and sunglasses if we’re outside between roughly 11:00 and 16:00.

- Young mothers and parents: Try to schedule baby outings for the cooler morning or later afternoon. Keep infants shaded and well hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure during the midday UV peak.

- Elderly people and anyone sensitive to heat: Temperatures into the upper 20s combined with sunshine can be tiring. Stay hydrated, avoid long spells outdoors at the hottest time, and keep indoor spaces ventilated or shaded.

- Motorcyclists: The day turns breezier in the afternoon with gusty moments. Wear protective layers and high-visibility clothing, and watch for crosswinds on exposed roads and bridges.

- Bicyclists: Morning rides will be pleasant; be cautious later in the afternoon when gusts increase and cloud cover can reduce contrast. Consider routes sheltered from the wind.

- Car drivers: Expect bright sun in the morning and midday that can cause glare, especially on low-angle morning or late-afternoon sun. Winds could make handling tricky for high-sided vehicles in the afternoon. A light shower late evening could briefly affect grip, so take care if out after 20:00.

- Gardeners: It’s a good day for outdoor gardening — largely dry and warm. Water plants in the early morning or after dusk to avoid excessive evaporation during the afternoon heat.

- Pet owners: Keep dogs and outdoor pets shaded and with fresh water at midday and in the afternoon. Avoid long walks during the hottest hours.

In short, Monday 11 August 2025 will be a warm, mostly dry day with strong sun around lunchtime and a breezier, cloudier finish. We’ll see a pleasant morning, a sunny and warm afternoon with gusty moments, and then a cooling evening with only a small chance of a light shower. Stay sun-smart, carry a light layer, and we’ll be ready for a fine summer day.
