Weather in Riga
As we look towards tomorrow, Friday the 24th of January, in Riga, we're in for a somewhat chilly and mixed-bag weather experience. Overnight, temperatures will hover around 1 to 2 degrees but it's going to feel more like minus 2 or so due to the wind chill. Be sure to bundle up if you're heading out for any early morning activities, as the feels-like temperatures will be quite brisk.
We expect overcast skies throughout the day, with varying conditions. Initially in the early hours through to about 4 a.m., there will be a mix of rain and snow, with precipitation probabilities climbing to about 55 percent. So if you're a car driver, you should be prepared for potentially slick roads. Wind gusts could reach up to 39 kilometers per hour, so take care while driving.
By dawn, precipitation will largely transition to rain, with humidity remaining especially high at around 95 percent. For young mothers and those with respiratory sensitivities, the dampness can be discomforting, so it's wise to stay warm and dry.
Throughout the afternoon, temperatures will creep up a bit, reaching around 3.3 degrees, but with the cloud cover at 100 percent, don't expect to see much sunshine. Despite the lack of snow accumulation, the consistent drizzle may make it quite uncomfortable for outdoor activities. For pet owners, it's worth planning any walks or outings between showers, as rainfall will be a constant companion.
The wind stays moderate, coming mainly from the south. Visibility remains decent at 6 to 24 kilometers, and there's little threat of severe weather with the risk factor staying low. The UV index is negligible, so no need for sunscreen here.
As we move into the evening, the temperatures will dip slightly. Layers are recommended to stay comfortable if you're venturing out. Bicyclists should particularly be cautious, as wet surfaces could pose hazards.
All in all, tomorrow's weather leans towards being cold and wet, so waterproof jackets and sturdy shoes will serve you well. We can expect similar overcast conditions through the night but as we look forward to the weekend, we might see some variation or improvement. Stay warm and take extra precautions when traveling.
